Why Are Inquiry Reports On Graft Not In Public Domain, Asks BJP
The Telangana BJP asked why the inquiry reports on various corruption-related issues of the BRS government were being kept secret and not posted in the public domain.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson N V Subhash today asked why the inquiry reports on various corruption-related issues of the previous government were being kept secret and not posted in the public domain.
Subhash said that the Congress had ordered inquiries into various allegations of corruption against the previous government. The inquiry reports were also being submitted by the concerned agencies. The reports were however being kept in dark and not bing posted in public domain, he said.
He demanded that all the inquiry reports pertaining to Mission Bhagiratha, Kaleshwaram and phone-tapping be placed in public domain so that the people could understand who was responsible for the corruption that took place during the previous government rule.
Also pointing out that the Vigilance & Enforcement department and the National Dam Safety Authority had submitted separate reports on the Kaleswaram project, Subhash asked why these reports were not being made public. He expressed suspicion of a tacit understanding between the Congress and the BRS in this regard.
Referring to the statements made by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy and another minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy that they would not tolerate corruption, the BJP leader asked whether they were really committed to fighting against corruption or they were compromising with those who were responsible for corruption in the previous government.
He also wanted to know whether the government was going to fix the responsibility for the corruption in the previous government only on the officials or on their political bosses actually instrumental in instructing the officials.
