BJP State president and union minister G Kishan Reddy today alleged that that the Congress was carrying money in suitcases to Delhi from Hyderabad while ignoring the implementation of the promises that it had made to the people.
He also alleged that the Congress which was in power in the State was extorting money by threatening contractors, builders and companies.
"If suitcases came from Karnataka for the recent Telangana Assembly elections, they are now going from Telangana to Delhi," he alleged.
YSRCP leader Vellala Rammohan joined the BJP along with his supporters at the BJP State office, and Reddy was speaking on that occasion.
Reddy criticized both the Congress and the BRS. "These two are corrupt and family parties. Both will join the Majlis with no second thought. The Congress government does not have the courage to investigate the BRS and KCR, because the Congress is itself a corrupt party. If we demand a CBI probe, it is delaying one in the name of a vigilance report," he said.
Reddy said that in the last nine-and-a-half years, the Modi government had been providing huge funds for the development of Telangana. "Rs 400 crore for Cherlapally, Rs 720 crore for the Secunderabad railway station, Rs 350 crore for the development of the Nampally railway station and Rs 450 crore for the development of the Kachiguda railway station were given. Rs 50 crore has been given for the development of Bhadradri. The Warangal Ramappa temple got UNESCO recognition due to Modi's efforts. Development works are underway at the Jogulamba temple. Roads worth Rs 1,20,000 crore have been constructed in Telangana. Modi also sanctioned a Rs 26,000-crore triple R road around Hyderabad. This is going to be a game changer in the development of Telangana," he said.
Reddy also pointed out that the Modi government had honoured former PM P V Narasimha Rao who has kept the country's economy on track. "When PV died, his body was not allowed to enter the AICC office by the Congress, and the funeral was not allowed to be held in Delhi. The Congress sent his body to Hyderabad. No memorial was built for him, either. However, though he belonged to the Congress, the Modi government recognised PV's services and awarded him the Bharat Ratna," Reddy said.
