Hyderabad | 12th October 2025
In a landmark decision aimed at strengthening the Gurukul education system, the Telangana government has approved the renewal of services of 4,092 employees across various categories in the State's residential educational institutions.

According to GO No 1533, the services of employees under the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS) have been renewed for one year - from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026.

The move comes as a major relief to thousands of families who had been facing salary-related hardships due to the delay in continuation orders over the past few months.

Responding to the news, Minister for SC, ST Welfare and Minority Affairs Adluri Lakshman Kumar expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for "their steadfast commitment to the Gurukula education system". He described the decision as a testament to the government's "humane and visionary approach in recognising the invaluable contributions of its employees".

"The current government has recognised the dedication and service of Gurukul employees and, through the GO, has demonstrated a compassionate and humane approach," he said. "The renewal will eliminate salary delays and provide financial stability to thousands of households."

He also said that the Gurukul system depended on teachers and non-teaching staff who served with unwavering commitment to the educational advancement of students from the SC, ST, BC and minority communities. "This decision is thus more than an administrative measure - it is a public commitment that brings light into the lives of the employees and their families," he said.
