YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday reiterated his opposition to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill 2013.
In a letter written to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, Jagan said that he is against the tabling of the Telangana Bill.
"I place in this letter of our party stand on the issues that are to come up during the ensuing session, more so the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill 2013, which is among the 32 items of the agenda as I understand. It is the firm view of our party that the Bill should not be tabled in the Parliament after it was rejected by the state Assembly, which moved a resolution to that effect and was carried," he said.
Jagan said that the YSRCP is of the view that it is morally improper to table a Bill rejected by the Assembly. "We have opposed the Bill and the bifurcation of the state at many forums, and will continue to do so even in the Parliament, as we feel that the division is undemocratic. We always stand for the best parliamentary practices, and extend our cooperation to you, but will oppose the State Reorganisaton Bill tooth and nail," Jagan said. (INN)
