4 persons, including 2 children, were killed when a wall collapsed during the construction of a new building at Khaleelwadi in Nizamabad district, on Saturday.
The victims have been identified as Padma (30), Venkatamma (30), Chaitanya (2) and Rani (3). They hailed from Lingamakkavalli Tanda of Vinukonda mandal in Guntur district.
2 more persons sufferred serious injuries, and are undergoing treatment at the government hospital. The condition of the injured is stated to be stable. One injured has been identified as Eswaraiah.
According to police, the wall collapsed when the labourers were digging the earth to lay the foundation for a new building, near the District Education Office at Khaleelwadi.
District Collector Vara Prasad and Superintendent of Police Ramakrishnaiah visited the spot, and reviewed the relief and rescue operations. (INN)
