The state government is likely to issue a notification for the recruitment of Village Revenue Officers (VROs) and Village Revenue Assistants (VRAs).
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, the Revenue Minister N Raghuveera Reddy informed that the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had already approved the file related to the appointments of the VROs and VRAs, but the relevant file was stuck in the general administrations department (GAD).
"Once it is cleared by the GAD, the notification will be issued," said the Minister. The recruitment process will commence within a week, he added.
Explaining the procedures and the criteria for conducting the interviews and selecting the candidates, the Minister clarified that the eligibility has been shifted to tenth class pass for VRAs, from seventh class earlier. And for VROs, the eligibility is intermediate pass, changed from tenth pass earlier.
Further, detailing on how the interviewing officers will allot marks to the candidates, the minister said that 10 marks will be allotted to age, 15 marks for oral interview, and 75 marks for academic qualifications. Interestingly, the academic year of passing will provide the deciding weightage/factor to the candidates.
The government is most likely to fill up all the vacancies of the cited posts by the end of August. The appointments are expected to boost the village administration, apart from galvanizing the implemention of the welfare schemes. (INN)
