Well-known producer and owner of VMC Organisations, V Doraswamy Raju, passed away today following a massive heart attack.
He was reportedly admitted to a private hospital in Banjara Hills after he experienced some unease.
The producer's funeral will be held at his residence in Hyderabad today.
He owned VMC Productions, VMC Pictures, VMC films, VMC1 Company, VMC Film Distributor and VMC Picture Palace.
Raju had been producing Telugu films since the mid-1980s, and had distributed about 750 movies in his long career as a film distributor.
Many of the film projects taken up by him gained critical acclaim as well as mass popularity.
Some of the more famous movies the veteran producer had worked on include the Nagarjuna hits Kirai Dada and President Gari Pellam, Akkineni Nageswara Rao's Seetharamayya Gari Manavaralu and Jr NTR starrer Simhadri.
The last film he had produced was the Uday Bhaskar-directed flick Vijeta.
His sudden passing has sent shockwaves through the Telugu film world, and has prompted many Tollywood celebrities to offer their condolences to the bereaved family.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao also expressed his condolences to the producer's family.
"V Doraswamy Raju had done a lot for the development of the Telugu film industry. He has left a void that nobody can fill," the CM said.
