Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy said that there was no chance of former MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy winning the Munugodu Assembly constituency seat in the upcoming by-election as the people had already decided to vote against him.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Sukender Reddy said that the political career of Rajagopal Reddy would come to an end with the by-election, and that the people were not believing the statements of Rajagopal Reddy that his fight was against the family rule of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and that his resignation was a weapon for the development of his constituency.
Sukender Reddy also said that the commitment of Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, the brother of Rajagopal Reddy, towards the Congress was being suspected by many due to his decision to stay away from the campaign for the by-election.
"Komatireddy Venkat Reddy is the star campaigner of the Congress, and has a responsibility to lead the party. His staying away from the campaign citing trivial reasons will definitely engender doubts in the minds of the people. It looks like an act to indirectly help his brother Rajagopal Reddy," Gutha claimed.
Referring to the allegations linking MLC Kavitha with the Delhi liquor policy "scam", the Council Chairman said that the BJP government at the Centre was indulging in a mudslinging campaign against Kavitha in a bid to malign the image of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
