BJP Wants Sep 17 To Be Telangana Liberation Day
Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu urged Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to declare September 17 as Telangana Liberation Day.

The Telangana BJP today organized a 5K march as part of the national Tiranga Yatra march, to reinforce the feeling of patriotism and unity among the citizens of India, and to rekindle the memories of the sacrifices made by Indian freedom fighters.
The march started from Kasu Brahmananda Reddy Park (K B R Park) and continued through Jubilee Hills, Filmnagar and the Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital road, and returned to K B R Park.
Party leaders Venkaiah Naidu, K Laxman, G Kishan Reddy, Indrasena Reddy, retired DGP Dinesh Reddy, Justice Subhash Chandra, retired bureaucrat Padmanabaiah and others participated in the function.
Addressing a large gathering of political leaders, businessmen, college and school students, and others at K B R Park on the occasion, Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu exhorted the people of Telangana to value the reason behind the fight for Telangana's separation from united Andhra Pradesh while simultaneously striving for good governance.
He made a special reference to the demand for celebrating the anniversary of Hyderabad's liberation from the Nizam's rule. "Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao should consider declaring and celebrating September 17 as 'Telangana Liberation Day'," he opined.
Khairatabad MLA Chintala Ramachandra Reddy said that the BJP would take the Tiranga Yatra to every nook and corner of the State to celebrate Hyderabad's liberation from the Nizam, and India's freedom from the British Raj.
