Former union minister Jairam Ramesh accused Union Minister M Venkaiah Naidu and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of misleading the people of AP.
Addressing a press conference along with APCC chief Dr N Raghuveera Reddy at Indira Bhavan on Friday, Ramesh alleged that the Naidu-duo were diverting the attention of the people from the real issues.
He said that hype had been created around Pattiseema to divert attention from the Polavaram Project. He said that the previous UPA regime had accorded national status to the Polavaram Project. However, the present TDP government was not able to complete the project. Therefore, Chandrababu Naidu, in connivance with Venkaiah Naidu, had been trying to divert attention.
Jairam Ramesh also criticised the BJP government at the Centre over the Land Acquisition Bill. He said that Chandrababu Naidu had been following the footsteps of the Centre and forcibly acquiring land for the new AP capital.
He said that the Congress would continue its fight to protect the interests of the farmers across the country. (INN)
