Adding more twists and turns to the AOB maoist encounter case, Virasam leader P Varavara Rao alleged that the Naidu-led government in Andhra Pradesh was continuing Operation R K "as part of its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with mining companies".
Speaking to the media today, Rao that Virasam never made claims without evidence. "Operation R K should be rechristened 'Operation Mining'," he quipped.
The operation took place with the help of snitch within the victim group, he claimed. The government was continuing its combing ops with the sole motive of killing Naxalites. The post mortem did not reveal much, as the murder was done quite cleverly, he alleged.
Rao also alleged that the State and Central governments launched OP Green Hunt to loot natural resources, and killed revolutionary leaders in the same way they conducted OP R K.
"Why was there a huge battle when the Maoists were not even capable of handling high grade weapons? Why did so many die, if you claim that they were all highly trained and armed?" he questioned.
The Andhra Pradesh government was fabricating the encounter narrative, he alleged, and demanded that the government produce maoists R K and Ravi in the High Court.
