Naxalites Escape Major Encounter By A Whisker

The top leaders of the Maoists narrowly escaped from an encounter in the Munchangipattu and Pedabayalu forest areas in the Andhra Odisha Border.
Hyderabad | 23rd July 2020
The highly tensed Andhra Odisha Border (AOB) once again witnessed the rattle of gunfire on Thursday.

The top leaders of the banned Maoists narrowly escaped from an encounter that took place between the police and the Maoists in the Munchangipattu and Pedabayalu forest areas.

The incident came to light very late.

The top leader of the Maoists, Akkiraju Haragopal alias RK, escaped the encounter. However, the AOB secretary of the party, Tirupati, and his wife Aruna sustained serious injuries during the encounter.

The police came to the conclusion about the injuries to the Maoists after combing the encounter spot.

Meanwhile, the ongoing combing operations have come to a halt due to heavy rains in the forest area.

Despite the setback, the Maoists are planning to hold their Martyrs' Day celebrations in a grand manner in the last week of this month.
