Prominent Kapu leader from coastal Andhra Pradesh Vangaveeti Radhakrishna, the son of Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga, resigned from the YSR Congress Party on Sunday.
He made bitter remarks against party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy after resigning.
According to the details given by his supporters, Radhakrishna resigned from the party as he was disappointed by the advice of Jagan to contest for the Vijayawada East Assembly seat. Radhakrishna had asked Jagan to give him the ticket for the Vijayawada Central Assembly constituency.
Although Radhakrishna wanted to leave the party a couple of days back, senior party leaders including Vijayasai Reddy convinced him to wait for some more days. Later Botsa Satyanarayana spoke to Radha for more than a hour personally. However, Radha made it clear to Botsa that he would continue in the party only if he was given the Vijayawada Central seat. Following that, Botsa left Radha's office without any result.
Later, Radha sent his resignation letter to the party headquarters. He told Jagan that he was not dependent on anybody for his political future and that he would continue his fight on his own.
With his resignation, the political corridors of Andhra Pradesh are abuzz with chatter about the next course of action of Radha - while some are saying that he might join the ruling TDP, some others are saying that he might join the Jana Sena. It is also being widely speculated that the TDP might invite him into the party and offer him the Vijayawada Central seat by denying the ticket to its sitting MLA Bonda Umamaheswar Rao.
