Senior Telangana Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao today made sensational remarks on the issue of the appointment of the next TPCC chief.
Reacting to speculations about the appointment, he objected to the inclusion of MP A Revanth Reddy's name in the list of potential nominees for the post, claiming that the latter was entirely unsuitable for the post.
"Revanth Reddy is not suitable for the post. He is not even a popular leader. Other leaders like me are far more popular than he is. He is being considered for the post only since he has been able to establish closes ties with the Congress high command," Rao alleged.
Expressing his displeasure over the matter, the veteran leader warned the party high command that he would leave the party if the post was given to the MP.
"Is it fair to appoint an anti-Telangana leader like Revanth Reddy to such an important post especially when he does not even have the necessary skills or experience to handle the role? In fact, during his stint with the TDP, he had nearly driven the party into the ground. If he is appointed as the next TPCC head, he will kill the Congress too. So, if Revanth Reddy is made the next Congress chief, several Congress leaders, myself included, will surely leave the party. Aren't leaders like Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Jagga Reddy more suitable for the role?" Rao asked.
