After
threatening to resign from the Congress if MP Revanth Reddy is made the new TPCC chief, veteran Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao today claimed that he feared that his life was in danger.
Rao claimed that he had been receiving threatening calls from different people after he openly opposed Reddy's candidacy for the post.
"I have received several abusive and threatening phone calls because I spoke up against Revanth Reddy's decision to contest for the post of the new TPCC head," he said.
The leader reportedly approached the Raidurgam police and lodged a complaint with them, and urged the police to provide protection to him and take action against those who had made the threatening calls.
The police then reportedly booked a case based on the complaint, and said that they would soon begin investigating the matter.
The veteran leader has voiced his objections against the appointment of any Reddy leaders to the TPCC post, demanding that a leader from the BC community be appointed instead.
