Congress leader and former MP Mallu Ravi today condemned
the comments made by veteran party leader V Hanumantha Rao against AICC Telangana in-charge Manickam Tagore and MP A Revanth Reddy.
Talking to the media, Ravi hit out at VHR who had lashed out yesterday at Tagore and Reddy in an address opposing the candidature of Revanth Reddy for the post of the next TPCC president.
"I openly support Revanth Reddy's decision to contest for the post of TPCC chief. I also believe he is the most suitable candidate," he added.
The Congress leader also criticised VHR for making "unsubstantiated" claims against Tagore, and said that Tagore and the rest of the Congress high command knew best who to pick for the coveted post, and urged Rao not to make any more distasteful comments.
VHR has been embroiled in a controversy following his comments against Reddy and Tagore, and has drawn a lot of flak from fellow Congress leaders for the same.
He has been pushing for the appointment of a BC TPCC chief instead of one from the Reddy community.
