Demanding that their "long-pending problems" be solved, untrained teachers in the state on Wednesday staged an agitation in front of the Directorate Of School Education at Lakdikapul.
Raising slogans against the state government, and the Primary Education Minister S Sailajanath, the untrained teachers alleged that the government was showing step-motherly treatment towards them, and that the government had failed to address their long-pending problems.
"Since 2002, we have been agitating for our problems to be solved, but the government has totally failed to address them," the untrained teachers alleged.
They appealed to the government and the education minister to convene a meeting to solve their problems.
When the agitators tried to barge into the Directorate Of School Education, the police took them into their custody, and shifted them to a nearby police station.
