The United Andhra Pradesh movement is gaining steam in the coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions, with Telangana being freshly inundated by several political parties suddenly interested in separate statehood for the region.

The Seemandhra JAC has, for some time, been demanding that Seemandhra ministers resign en masse for the cause of a united AP.

On Monday, in Tirupati, students of the Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) conducted a rally, demanding resignations of lawmakers from their region.

In Nellore, local Muslims and Muslim leaders gathered at the town's Gandhi statue, to voice their protests to keep the state united. A donkey with a KCR mask pulled over its head was paraded on the streets as part of the rally.

In Kadapa, Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Ahmadullah's residence was surrounded by protestors who sought to gift him with a saree and a blouse. The Samaikya Andgra gitators were of the opinion that leaders who do not resign to pledge their support for a United AP must wear women's clothing and stay at home.

In Guntur, Rural Development Minister D Manikya Vara Prasada Rao's home was gheraoed by Samaikya Andhra supporters, who similarly demanded that he resign.
