The condition of the two remaining YSR Congress Party MPs fasting at AP Bhavan in New Delhi over the Centre not granting Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh deteriorated on Wednesday, the sixth day of their fast.
MPs Peddireddy Mithun Reddy and Y S Avinash Reddy were "forcibly" moved to a hospital by the police as a result.
The doctors who conducted medical tests on the two MPs advised that they be rushed to the hospital after it was found that their health conditions had turned unstable owing to dipping sugar and blood pressure levels. After examining the duo, the doctors said that both of them were suffering from severe dehydration, and their lives could be in danger if they were not moved to a hospital immediately.
However, the MPs were firm about fighting till the end for the sake of the state, and refused any medical treatment. Rapid Action Force personnel then brought them forcibly to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.
The three other YSR Congress MPs who had also
started off on a fast on April 6 along with Mithun Reddy and Avinash Reddy were already taken to hospitals earlier, and discharged, too.
