Tummala, 10 Others File Nominations For Palair By-Election
11 persons including two Congress candidates, a CPM candidate, a TRS candidate and 7 independents today filed their nominations for the Palair by-election.

A total of 11 persons including 7 independents, two Congress candidates, a CPM candidate and a TRS candidate today filed their nominations for the Palair by-election.
The Election Commission in a press release said that minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao had filed his nomination on behalf of the ruling TRS, Sucharitha Ram Reddy and Gopala Reddy Ramreddy had filed theirs on behalf of the Congress, and Buttala Lenin had filed his on behalf of the CPM.
In addition, T Hanumantha Rao, P Saritha, B Srinu, D Uday Bhaskar, B Laxma Naik, N Jeevan Sagar and S Rama Murthy had filed nominations as independents.
The seat fell vacant following the death of Congress sitting MLA Ramreddy Venkatreddy. The Congress nominated the wife of Venkatreddy for the seat, and tried to get her elected unanimously, but while the TDP and the YSR Congress agreed not to contest, the TRS would not play ball.
TRS candidate and minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao came in a rally and filed his papers at the Tahasildar's office. He was accompanied by minister K T Rama Rao and Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari.
Congress nominee Sucharita Ramreddy, too, came to the Tahsildar's office in a bike and auto rally organized by Congress workers to file her nomination. She was accompanied by Congress senior leader Jana Reddy, TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Shabbir Ali and Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy.
