TSGenco Signs MoU With BHEL For 6000 MW Plants

At present TS Genco has an installed power generating capacity of about 4,364 MW in Telangana, both thermal and hydel.
Hyderabad | 4th October 2014
The Telangana State Power Generation Corporation (TSGenco), represented by its Chairman and Managing Director D Prabhakar Rao, and Bharath Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), represented by its Chairman and Managing Director B Prasad Rao, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Saturday afternoon in the Telangana Secretariat in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to establish 6000 MW of thermal power plants in Telangana on an EPC basis.

BHEL, a central public sector undertaking, is the largest engineering and manufacturing enterprise in India, and is one of the leading companies in the field of power plant equipment.

BHEL's range of services extends from project feasibility through design, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning to after-sales service.

At present TS Genco has an installed power generating capacity of about 4,364 MW, both thermal and hydel, and has technical capability and expertise in the areas of installing, owning, operating and maintaining power plants.

BHEL has already executed thermal power projects in Telangana in Bhupalapally, Singareni Collieries and Kothagudem, and its performance is above the national average of the plant load factor.

The Chief Minister has reposed faith and confidence in BHEL, being a Maharatna Central Public Sector Undertaking. BHEL, as part of its obligations, will set up the project as the nominated EPC contractor, and will execute the entire project within the next 3 years. (INN)
