Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwarlal, on Wednesday, directed the Warangal District Election Officer (DEO) to submit a report on allegations that the Telangana Rashstra Samithi was taking a "pledge" from voters to vote for the party in the Parkal by-elections.

The CEO said that the DEO has been asked to enquire into the matter and send a report on the issue.

He said that affected partied could approach the Income Tax Department and furnish proof that the money was legal and not meant to be used to lure voters.
Bhanwarlal said that stringent steps were being taken to ensure that the election campaigning ends by 10pm.
Regarding a complaint on paid articles by Sakshi, he said that legal opinion has been sought on the issue. He said that the District Monitoring Committees were keeping a watch on the alleged paid articles.
