Hitting back at the Congress leaders for perpetually claiming that their party had given statehood to Telangana, TRS leaders on Sunday said that Sonia Gandhi was compelled to concede Telangana as TRS supremo K Chandrashekar Rao had sat on a fast-unto-death.
Speaking to mediapersons on Sunday, Mission Bhagiratha vice-chairman Vemula Prashanth Reddy ridiculed the Congress leaders for celebrating Congress president Sonia Gandhi's birthday as "Thanksgiving Day" for her agreeing to grant statehood to Telangana on that day in 2009. He said that the dreams of a separate state could become a reality only because of KCR's perseverance.
Meanwhile, launching a scathing attack on A Revanth Reddy for criticizing the state government, Peddapalli MP Balka Suman warned the former to stop making provocative remarks against the party or be prepared to face dire consequences.
"If the Congress is encouraging personal attacks by Revanth Reddy, the TRS will make the histories of Congress leaders' families public," he warned.
Speaking to the media separately, irrigation minister T Harish Rao also lashed out at Revanth Reddy for his remarks on KCR.
It may be mentioned here that recently Reddy had called upon all political parties to join hands to "dethrone" KCR.
Rao said that there was no need for political parties to join hands to remove KCR from the CM's post as the government was completing all the projects taken up by it and also keeping its poll promises.
