TDP MLA from Qutbullapur K P Vivekanand Goud alleged that the TRS government was violating democratic norms in conducting the GHMC elections as it was scared of losing at the hustings.
Speaking to mediapersons at NTR Trust Bhavan on Tuesday, Goud said that the TRS government had agreed to conduct the GHMC elections only when the High Court reprimanded it for not holding them.
He also alleged that the ward delimitation had been done in a skewed manner to benefit the TRS and the MIM.
There should be at least a 40-day period for the GHMC election process, but the government had cut short the period to just seven days as it didn't want to give an opportunity to the Opposition parties to campaign effectively, he said.
However, the TDP would face all the hurdles created by the TRS, he said, and added that Hyderabad's development was possible only with the TDP.
