TRS Distributed Crores During GHMC Elections: TDP

The Telangana TDP today alleged that the ruling Party had blatantly misused its power and lured voters by distributing several crores of rupees openly in the GHMC elections.

Talking to the media, the TDP leaders alleged that the ruling Party also used money to indulge in mind games by giving full-page front-page advertisements in all newspapers.

Talking of how the TRS misused its power, they narrated how when TDP workers found a TRS worker was carrying money in his car near Sai Degree College, they nabbed him and handed him over to police, just to see him being allowed to go soon. And when TDP workers tried to prevent distribution of money at Mansoorabad, supporters of minister Jagdish Reddy allegedly attacked TDP candidate K Narasimha Reddy.

The TDP leaders also added that an MIM MLA visited a polling booth which was not in his constituency, but the officials did not object to it.

They also condemned the attacks by TRS workers on TDP leaders. Fearing defeat in the elections, the TRS leaders had encouraged attacks on the Opposition leaders and workers, they alleged.

Party floor leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao also condemned the TRS government for deleting names of voters en masse, and alleged that the State government had deleted the name of even ACB Director General A K Khan from the voters' list.

Telangana TDP working president A Revanth Reddy said police personnel on duty should discharge their duty as government employees and not to yield to the pressure of ruling Party leaders.

However, in spite of the TRS' undemocratic acts, there was a favorable atmosphere in support of the TDP-BJP combine, Telangana TDP president L Ramana said.

TDP leaders E Peddi Reddy, Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy, Motkupally Narasimhulu and Arvind Kumar Goud also spoke condemning the TRS style of conducting the GHMC elections.
