Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader Naini Narasimha Reddy, on Monday, hoisted a black flag at Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad as a symbol of protest against the Andhra Pradesh Formation Day celebrations.
Talking to media persons, Narasimha Reddy said that the AP State Formation Day is seen as a day of betrayal of the aspirations of Telangana people. He added that the government, by going ahead and celebrating it in the Telangana region, has hurt the sentiments of the people there.
Narasimha Reddy added that throughout the Telangana region, and not just in Hyderabad, the TRS' protest would be registered by hosting black flags at the district party offices.
The TRS leader further said that injustice to the people of the Telangana region had started soon after the formation of Andhra Pradesh. He said that the integrated Andhra Pradesh state was carved out with an aim to keep all Telugus together, but that this had had an adverse effect. He added that Seemandhra leaders have managed to use the resources in Telangana for developing their own regions.
Narasimha Reddy stated that ever since the formation of Andhra Pradesh, the people of Telangana have been facing injustice in every field, including agriculture, irrigation and employment.
