Nominations Filed For Telangana MLC Elections

TRS candidates for the MLC seats of the MLA quota today visited the Gun Park Martyrs' Memorial and paid homage before filing their nomination papers.

MLC candidates Gangadhar Goud, Alimeneti Krishna Reddy and Mynampalli Hanumanth Rao, after garlanding the memorial, proceeded to the legislature complex in a procession and submitted their nomination papers to the Legislature Secretary.

They were accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali, ministers K T Rama Rao, Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Etela Rajender, Talasani Srinivas Yadav and T Padma Rao Goud, GHMC Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, GHMC Deputy Mayor Fasiuddin and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy said that the ruling party already had the majority in the Legislative Council. With three MLCs from the MLAs' quota and two MLCs from the Governor's quota entering the Upper House now on TRS nominations, the party's majority would increase further in the Council, he said.
