TRS MP Nama Nageswara Rao's son was allegedly attacked and robbed by two unidentified persons in Hyderabad on July 30.
The incident came to light two days later.
The unidentified persons reportedly took control of Rao's son Prithvi Teja at knifepoint in Punjagutta on July 30.
According to a complaint filed by Teja, he was stopped by two bike-borne persons on the Tolichowki main road at around 4:30 am on July 30. They got into his car, consumed alcohol, and physically assaulted him.
He was also reportedly forced to transfer Rs. 75,000 to them via PhonePe.
Later, one of the assailants drove the car, reportedly in a rash manner, from Gachibowli to S R Nagar via Mehdipatnam and Masab Tank, and caused damage to some two-wheelers on the way.
The police registered a case under Section 395 of the Indian Penal Code and started probing the incident.
They are examining the CCTV footage of the place where the incident allegedly took place.
