The Hyderabad Police arrested five of the nine-member gang accused in the recent Muthoot Finance gold heist at Beeramguda (near Sangareddy) on the city outskirts last month.
As per reports, posing as CBI officials, the inter-State gang had robbed nearly 46 kg of gold in a daring armed dacoity on December 28. Since then, the gang have been eluding the Cyberabad branch of the police and also the cops from neighbouring States.
According to Hyderabad PD, the five members were caught from villages on the borders shared by Telangana and Maharashtra, and around 3.5 kg of stolen gold and Rs. 10 lakhs in cash was recovered from their stash.
A case has been filed and the investigation is going on.
