Shakeel Ahmed Slams Rumours Of Defection To BJP

Disgruntled TRS MLA Shakeel Ahmed said that he was not quitting the ruling party and that there was no truth in the campaign that he would be joining the BJP.
Hyderabad | 13th September 2019
Disgruntled TRS MLA Shakeel Ahmed, representing the Bodhan constituency, said that he was not quitting the ruling party and that there was no truth in the campaign that he would be joining the BJP.

After creating ripples in the ruling party by meeting Nizamabad MP and BJP leader D Arvind, the MLA appears to have changed his mindset, probably after being convinced by the TRS working president and IT Minister K T Rama Rao.

Ahmed tweeted that he was not leaving the TRS and had no plans to. There was no truth in the rumours in the social media and a section of the mainstream media that he might be switching over to the saffron party, he clarified.

He also said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was a godfather to him and had given him a chance to be an MLA three consecutive time.

Meanwhile, Arvind said that Ahmed was perhaps coerced into saying whatever he did.
