Ousted TRS leader Etala Rajender, who resigned from the party today, has been facing the ire of his former party colleagues for his explosive comments against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and the pink party.
Today, TRS MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy also hit out at the former minister for the remarks the latter had allegedly made against the CM.
Reacting to Rajender's allegations that the CM ruled his party with the iron fist of a dictator and that he constantly "insulted" BC, SC and ST leaders, Palla Rajeswhar Reddy said at a press conference that the only reason Rajender was bringing up the issue of the treatment of leaders within the TRS was because he wanted to spread "falsehoods" in order to "protect his assets".
The MLC claimed that though KCR had given Rajender many top posts, the former minister had not honoured all that had been done for him.
"If his self-respect is so important to him that Etala Rajender was forced to resign from our party due to attacks on his sense of self-respect, why didn't he resign when he was denied entry into the Pragati Bhavan in 2016? The truth is KCR has never belittled him or any other leaders. It is ridiculous that Rajender is now trying to protect his assets using the excuse of self-respect," he fumed.
"If he has such great respect for the weaker sections of our society and the BC community, then why did he usurp their lands with such ease? All this talk of self-respect is simply to cover his tracks. And, if he supports the marginalised, how can he think of joining the BJP which has been suppressing and harassing farmers across the country for the last six months?" Reddy asked.
It seemed that the MLC had had enough of Rajender's allegations against the TRS, and warned him that the party would no longer keep quiet if he kept on making "unfounded" statements about the CM. He even said that the people of the state would all stand by the TRS.
