The ongoing verbal war between the ruling TRS and main Opposition party the Congress, aggravated by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao
calling the Congress leaders "sannasulu", shows no signs of abating.
After KCR's scathing attack on the Congress' leaders in Warangal district the other day, the latter, including TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy, D K Aruna, V Hanumantha Rao, Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy and others,
lashed back at the Chief Minister in the same tone on Saturday.
The same evening, the ministers defended the CM's remarks against the Congress leaders. Not content with that, however, the ruling party leaders fired salvos even on Sunday.
As part of that, Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today justified KCR's remarks against the Congress leaders saying that there was nothing wrong in the criticism by the Chief Minister.
Talasani asked the Congress leaders what term would describe them better than "sannasulu" after they managed to get a single seat in the GHMC elections.
He said that he didn't understand why the Congress leaders were in a bellicose mood. Stating that the TRS government had introduced several "historic" schemes and developmental programs in the last two-and-a-half years for the benefit of the people, the minister asked the Congress leaders why they had failed to do such things during the several previous decades when they ruled the region.
Talking about the work being done for the backward castes by his party, Talasani pointed out that 50 percent of people belonged to the BCs, and said that the Chief Minister was taking special interest in launching good programs for their welfare. He alleged that the Congress leaders in contrast had treated the BCs as beggars during all the decades that they were at the helm.
He claimed that the people in the entire State were solidly behind the TRS due to all its work for them.
He warned the Congress leaders of dire consequences if they contibued to speak as they wished. "We have 100 tongues," he said, and asked the Congress leaders to come to Assembly fully prepared during the budget session to start from March 8.
