Accusing the Congress and Telugu Desam Party of hampering the development of Telangana and people's welfare, Telangana Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav today warned that the State government would throw them in prison if they continued to stall progress for cheap politics.
Addressing the media at the Secretariat on Thursday, Yadav was vociferously critical of the Opposition crying foul over the government's indefatigable implementation of welfare schemes.
"It is our government, and we will take any decision for the cause of the people be it redesigning the Pranahitha-Chevella project, replacing the Osmania General Hospital or shifting the Secretariat. The Congress does not want a new hospital in the place of dilapidated Osmania Generl Hospital," he charged.
He slammed the Opposition parties for raising objections to all the welfare plans of the government. He said that K Chandrashekar Rao was the only Chief Minister in the country untarnished by corruption allegations, and alleged that the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party leaders, who had looted the nation for decades, were now trying to have others painted with the same brush.
He swore to expose all their "misdeeds, corruption and irregularities" during the monsoon session of Assembly likely to be conducted next month.
He also challenged the Congress to impress upon AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi to direct the Karnataka government under Congress rule to stop irrigation projects that hampered Telangana's own irrigation requirements if they had the guts.
Claiming to be taken by surprise upon knowing the big fish involved in the Indiramma Housing scam, he said, "We could not understand whom to arrest."
The minister said that Grama Jyothi was launched for the all-round development of Telangana's villages, and that the government was also offering pensions to the eligible, fine rice to hostels, and two bedroom houses for the poor.
When asked, he said that he was always ready to stand for re-election from the Sanathnagar Assembly constituency.
He also exuded confidence that the TRS would win in the forthcoming GHMC elections.
"Our efforts to cater to the needs of 1.42 crore people in the GHMC area will bear fruit," he said.
