TRS Government Responsible For Sarpanches' Suicides: Congress

Congress MLC T Jeevan Reddy today came down heavily on the TRS government, holding it responsible for the suicides of village sarpanches in Telangana.
Hyderabad | 13th November 2022
Congress MLC T Jeevan Reddy today came down heavily on the TRS government, holding it responsible for the suicides of village sarpanches in Telangana.

He said that the sarpanches were executing development works by spending their own money, and were committing suicides as the State government was not clearing their pending bills.

Noting that many of the villages in the State had sarpanches belonging to the TRS, he said the State government was not clearing the pending bills of its own party's sarpanches.

He asked TRS MLC K Kavitha, the daughter of CM K Chandrashekar Rao, to hold discussions with her father and get the pending bills of the sarpanches cleared.

He also said that Kavitha had made false promises to the people of Raikal. He alleged that Kavitha had increased the house taxes of the residents of Raikal after promising to develop it by spending Rs 25 crore, but that she had done nothing so far. And referring to the comments of Kavitha that she had brought a degree college to Raikal, Reddy asked the MLC to show the construction of the degree college.

He also dared Kavitha to a public debate on the corruption that took place in the implementation of the Mission Bhagiratha scheme.
