Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka today said that the Congress was witnessing a massive wave in its favour in the ongoing local body elections across the State, having already won about 85% of the seats.
He said that the people of the State were wholeheartedly blessing the welfare and development programs undertaken by the Congress government, and were electing Congress leaders in large numbers.
Vikramarka attended a felicitation meeting for newly elected Congress sarpanches at the Madhira constituency headquarters, and said that Congress leaders had won a large number of seats, sounded the victory bugle, and created history.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the panchayat elections were being conducted peacefully and in a highly democratic manner.
He added that the hard work and struggle of Congress workers in securing this victory had been truly remarkable.
The Deputy CM also said that irrespective of who had been elected as sarpanch, the government would ensure justice and equal development for all villages in the constituency.
Vikramarka also took the opportunity to say that Telangana had achieved the distinction of having the highest per capita income in the country, with even developed States including Gujarat not in a position to compete with the State.
He also said that the State was set to achieve a three-trillion-dollar economy by 2047, and as part of this goal, plans had been prepared to generate 1.39 lakh megawatts of power, with details clearly outlined in the Vision Document 2047 released by the government.
He said that the vision document also clearly outlined where dams should be built on rivers, where roads should be laid, where bullet trains should run, and where industries, educational institutions, pharma parks and IT parks should be established.
Vikramarka said that within hours of the release of the Vision Document, investments worth Rs 5.75 lakh crore had flowed into the State, and that large-scale investments would continue to come to Telangana in the future.
