Telangana JAC chairman M Kodandaram said that the TRS government was getting weaker with each passing day and was hence afraid of the TJAC, and claimed that the TJAC's zeal had only strengthened further after Saturday's arrest.
Speaking to the media at his residence on Sunday morning, Kodandaram said that the TJAC had applied for permission for the Amaraveerula Spoorthy Yatra but the police had arrested him when he went to take the order. The police had also arrested about 400 JAC leaders illegally, and were enquiring about the caste of the JAC leaders in the police station.
"We had applied for permission to organise the Spoorthy Yatra but the police changed their minds in the last minute and resorted to arrests at midnight on October 13. It is unjustified that the police are filing cases against JAC leaders under the section 151 which is applicable to the cognizable crime like rapes and loots," he lamented.
He also said that it was extremely unfair for the police to arrest AICC secretary V Hanumantha Rao, who had come to meet him. He alleged that the TRS government was violating the Constitution in the state, and that he would lodge a complaint with the Governor and President on the arrests, as also approach the courts.
"We will also explain the incidents took place on Saturday to all political parties," he added.
He demanded that the state government fill the 2 lakh vacant posts immediately.
