Congress MLC M S Prabhakar on Wednesday rejected the claims of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi of winning the elections of the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB).
Speaking to INN, Prabhakar said that except one, all candidates who had won the elections belonged to the Congress. They had defected to the TRS only after the declaration of results.
Since the elections were not held on a party affiliations, the candidates took advantage of the same, he alleged.
Without taking any names, Prabhakar alleged that some TRS ministers had lured the winners of the SCB elections to join their party. He claimed that all the candidates for whom the TRS leaders had campaigned had lost the elections, and therefore the TRS played a trick at the last minute and gave an impression before the people that it had won the SCB polls.
He specifically accused Commercial Taxes minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav of misleading the people by making wrong claims of a TRS victory in the polls.
He alleged that Talasani had been misleading even the TRS government. Referring to Talasani's remarks against A P Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, he challenged Talasani to stage a dharna before Naidu's residence if he was really serious about Telangana's development.
Prabhakar also claimed that it would be a direct fight between the Congress and the TRS during the GHMC elections, and the Congress would win the majority of divisions to bag the posts of Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
He said that the TDP-BJP combine would be wiped out from the city in the municipal elections. (INN)
