Government whip Toorpu Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy, on Tuesday, condemned the bandh call given by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi on May 2.
Addressing a press conference at the Congress Legislature Party office in Hyderabad, Jagga Reddy said that the Congress would ensure that the bandh flops in the Telangana region.
He accused TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Reddy of exploiting the sentiments of people in the Telangana region.
He said that KCR's "wrong decisions" have been having a bad impact on the economy of the region.
Jagga Reddy said that if KCR was sincere towards the statehood cause, he must support the agitation taken up by Congress MPs in Delhi.
The Sangareddy MLA also condemned the opposition parties for trying to brand Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy as anti-Telangana.
"The Chief Minister has already made his stand clear on the statehood issue by saying that he would abide by the Centre's decision on the issue. It is wrong to target the Chief Minister, who is trying to improve Telangana's economy," he said. (INN)
