Trickster Who Extracted Rs 20 Lakhs From Women Held
The Hyderabad police arrested a confidence trickster for cheating women and extracting money from them on the pretext of marrying them.

The Hyderabad cyber crime police arrested a confidence trickster, Nallapati Jeevan Kumar, of Nallamadugula village of Prakasam district for cheating women on the pretext of marrying them, and then inveighling money from them claiming that his mother was bed-ridden and undergoing cancer treatment.
The police said that they had received a complaint from a woman from Secunderabad on October 4 that she had created her profile with Jeevansathi.com to search for a groom. When she came across a profile of a Rishi Kumar Nallapati, she sent a message that she was interested in talking to him.
After they decided to get married, he asked her to give him her credit card details so that he can treat his mother suffering from cancer. When she sent him the details, he withdrew Rs 2.4 lakhs, blocked her profile and stopped responding to her.
Based on the complaint, the cyber crime police registered a case under sections 66 C and D of the Information Technology Amendment Act, 2008, and sections 419 and 420 of the IPC. The investigation revealed that Kumar had created fake profiles in matrimonial sites like Jeevansathi.com and Shaadi.com as Rishi Kumar using the photos of one Prithvish Shetty, and represented himself as a Professor in Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
He sent messages to many earning women informing them that he liked their profiles and asking them to go through his profile. He had duped many women in a similar manner and extorted Rs 20 lakhs from them cumulatively.
