Fake Amazon Prime Subscription Call Centre Busted, 13 Arrested
An international fake call centre cheating people based in Australia by posing as tech support staff of Amazon Prime was busted today, and 13 persons arrested.

The sleuths of the Special Operations Team (SOT), Medchal zone, busted an international fake call centre under the Petbasheerbad police limits and arrested 13 persons for cheating people based in Australia by posing as tech support staff of Amazon Prime.
The accused would allegedly call potential targets (using VOIP) based in Australia telling them that their accounts had either been hacked or had a security threat, and offered technical support.
The victims were made to pay money through gift cards which were redeemed in Aus-based bank accounts by the overseas contacts of the accused.
A total of 13 persons were present at the call centre during the raid, engaged in calls with foreign nationals as described above. They were arrested, and computer hardware, phones and other material was recovered.
The organizers of the racket were reported to be Rabesh Kumar Prasad alias Rahul, from West Bengal; Sarbesh Kumar Gupta alias Amen, also from West Bengal; Bairic Pramod Reddy, a resident of Hanamkonda and London; Kunchala Ajay Kumar, a resident of Warangal; and a Ramakrishna Reddy (absconding).
