In a move that could trigger a major political controversy, the Hyderabad City Police personnel stopped the vehicle of Tribal Welfare Minister Azmera Chandulal to facilitate smooth passage for the convoys of other ministers.
Chandulal's vehicle was stopped at the entrance of Hotel Marriott at the Tank Band on Friday on the pretext that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's convoy was about to reach the venue.
However, the police officials allowed the vehicles of other ministers - K Taraka Rama Rao and G Jagadish Reddy - who came after Chandulal.
The police officials also prevented the Tribal Minister from walking into the venue while leaving behind his vehicle.
Surprisingly, the minister did not raise any complaint against the police behaviour, and waited till the Chief Minister's convoy entered the venue. Later, he entered the Hotel Marriott in his vehicle. (INN)
