The temple of Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala will be closed on June 15 from 6pm to 4:30pm on June 16, due to the total lunar eclipse.
The effect of the lunar eclipse will be felt between 12:53am to 3:32am on June 16, a statement by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam, released on Tuesday, said.
The Temple Hill will be blocked for nearly 12 hours for the duration of the eclipse, the TTD said.
Temple authorities have postponed all rituals for the forthcoming day.
The Tirumala temple will open after the "suddhi" to cancel the 'evil' effect of the eclipse, followed by 'Punyahavachanam'.
Arjitha Sevas (similar to Suprabhatam Sevas), Thomala Sevas and Archana Sevas will be performed in Ekantham, although the TTD has cancelled the Tiruppavada Seva on June 16.
In connection with the eclipse, the temple management has also decided to stop the 'Maha Laghu' darshan system on Wednesday. (INN)
