Whether or not the Congress high command has managed to
pacify its MPs from the Telangana region will be made clear after a meeting that is to take place in a while at the residence of MP K Kesava Rao (AKA KK).
7 MPs will be meeting at KK's residence to decide whether to resign immediately as had been planned, or to wait until the upcoming Parliamentary session to put pressure on the central government. 2 other MPs Ponnam Prabhakar and S Rajaiah will be joining them after their return from the national capital.
Meanwhile, reports from certain quarters say that the Telangana Congress MPs, who had gone to Delhi with the united intention of giving up their posts, are now in two minds, with one group still firm in its decision, and the other wavering.
Word is in that Ponnam Prabhakar might be part of the latter group, while Madhu Yashki has come right out and asked why resigning is necessary when the high command is assuring them that all possible efforts are being made to resolve the issue.
Warangal MP S Rajiah, however, insists that the decision to resign is unanimous, and that they are going to go ahead and send in their letters to AICC prez Sonia Gandhi as was the original plan. "I see the statements by AICC leaders as a positive symptom. That does not have anything to do with our decision to resign. We decided it together and we will go along with it. If any one is planning on backing out, it is their personal decision, and has nothing to do with us [Telangana Congress MPs] as a whole. Ponnam Prabhakar is our leader. Of course he will resign with us," insisted Rajaiah.
Reportedly, the Telangana Congress MPs at New Delhi will be meeting Overseas Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi later today.
