Throng City For "Chalo Dharna Chowk", TJAC Tells People
Chairman M Kodandaram asked people to come to Hyderabad in thousands to stage dharnas if permission for the "Chalo Dharna Chowk" rally on May 15 was refused.
Telangana Political JAC chairman M Kodandaram called upon the people to come to Hyderabad in thousands to stage dharnas if the state government refused to give permission to the "Chalo Dharna Chowk" program to be organized on May 15.
Addressing the protest program "Save Dharna Chowk" at Maqdoom Bhavan on its 29th day on Saturday (the protests are to get the state government revive Dharna Chowk at Indira Park), Kodandaram expressed hope that the government would respond positively to the "Occupy Dharna Chowk" program planned for the 15th.
"Otherwise the people have to convert the whole of Hyderabad into a Dharna Chowk by staging protest programs everywhere in the city," he said.
The state government should convene an all-party meeting at least now and take a decision taking the opinion of all the parties into consideration instead of taking a unilateral decision on shutting down Dharna Chowk, he said.
Eminent writers Shiva Reddy and Sujatha, Rythu Sangham leader Banda Chandra Reddy and social activist M Krishna Prasad also spoke. The family members of the farmers who committed suicide, and representatives of Human Rights Forum, Rythu Swarajya Vedika, MSI Chatri, Gramya Resource Center, Mahila Hakkula Vedika and Poura Hakkula Sangam participated in the program along with Dharna Chowk Parirakshana Committee members.
