Gymkhana Grounds Stampede: Azharuddin Says No Fault Of HCA
The HCA president termed the stampede at the Gymkhana grounds unfortunate, but claimed that there was no mistake committed by the association in the incident.
Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) president and former Indian cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin today termed the stampede at the Gymkhana grounds in Secunderabad, where tickets were being sold for the upcoming cricket match on September 25 between India and Australia, as unfortunate.
He however claimed that there was no mistake committed by the association in the issue.
He also said that the association would submit a report to the State government on how the stampede took place.
After attending a review meeting held by Sports Minister V Srinivas Goud on the issue, Azharuddin added that any defects that existed in the association would be sorted out, and that the HCA would aim to bring more name to Telangana.
He added that the people of the entire State were happy as the State had got the opportunity to host a top cricket match after a long time.
