More farmers of Telangana committed suicides by consuming pesticides due to unbearable debt burdens.
According to Sub-Inspector Rajashekar, one Balwanth Reddy (29), a graduate from the Madikattu village under the Chevella Police Station limits in the Rangareddy district, was into agriculture. Reddy was missing from Saturday evening, and his relatives and friends searched for him in vain.
The family members found Reddy hanging to a tree at his agriculture field today. The parents lodged a complaint with the police, who rushed to the spot and shifted the body to the Chevella government hospital for post-mortem.
In another incident, another farmer Bheemaiah, from Appireddyguda under the Shabad mandal in the Rangareddy district, committed suicide in his fields on Saturday night.
Bheemaiah went to his fields in the morning on Saturday taking his cattle. In the evening the cattle returned without Bheemaiah. The anxious family members searched for him but in vain. On Sunday morning, they found Bheemaiah's body in the fields.
In the Warangal district, a cotton farmer Chelpuri Rajaiah of the Seetharampur village under the Athmakur mandal committed suicide on Sunday.
He consumed pesticide as he had failed to find a way to clear his debts.
