Telangana BJP leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy today began a "Diksha" demanding that the TRS government initiate measures to prevent further suicides by farmers and resolve their problems.
Nagam sat on his Diksha (literally ritual, and practically fast) on a "Kisan Bachao" slogan at Indira Park.
He demanded that the State government take immediate steps to stop the spate of suicides by the farmers, starting with waiving off the remaining loans of the farmers in one go and declaring drought-hit mandals.
He also asked the government to provide insurance for crops, and a Rs 3,000 drought-relief grant to each farmer in the State.
