Thieves struck at the residence of a Jeweller and decamped with gold and silver ornaments, besides expensive sarees, at Banjara Hills in Hyderabad.
According to Inspector M Sudarshan, unidentified persons broke into the residence of Vasudeva Reddy, a resident of Road No. 3, Arora Colony, in Banjara Hills.
Sudarshan revealed that Vasudeva Reddy had left for Dharmavaram in Anantapur to get a plot of land he had recently purchased registered in his name on October 6. He returned home on Tuesday.
On his return, he was aghast to notice that the locks of an almirah had been broken and the contents were strewn all over.
Vasudeva Reddy immediately informed the police about the theft.
Later, in a written complaint, the Jeweller stated that 75 tolas of gold, 40 tolas of silver and some expensive sarees, along with Rs. 10,000 in cash, were missing.
Police registered a case under Section 402 IPC against unidentified persons, and took up further investigations.
