The AICC has taken serious note of
the comments made by the party MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.
AICC State incharge Manikrao Thakre asked the MP to meet him in Delhi over the issue. Following this, Reddy called on Thakre at the MLA Quarters in Hyderabad.
Thakre is reported to have not only examined the visuals of the controversial comments made by the MP, but also gotten his comments translated from Telugu to English before meeting the MP.
Thakre is likely to submit a report to the AICC after his meeting with Reddy.
Reddy spoke to the media after meeting Thakre. He said that he did not discuss anything about the comments he had made on Tuesday with Thakre during the meeting. He also said that his comments were wrongly interpreted by the media, and that he had only spoken about a survey report.
He said that his discussion with Thakre was on how to prepare for the next Assembly elections, and that he had urged Thakre to allot party tickets to the party leaders in advance and to field only candidates capable of winning, in the elections.
He pointed out that the party leaders had altercations at the Golkonda Hotel before the last Assembly elections due to the delay in the allotment of the party tickets, and that sucn a scenario should be avoided this time.
He said that he had also asked the party high command not to have an alliance with the TDP.
Commenting on his proposed padayatra, Reddy said that he would launch it in the last week of this month, in Bhongir. He also said that another party MP, N Uttam Kumar Reddy, would launch his padayatra in Nalgonda district. He added that he would organize a bike yatra in all the villages of his constituency, and take the "failures" of the KCR government to the doorsteps of the people.
