Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy today made sensational remarks proposing an alliance of the ruling BRS with the Congress for the next Assembly elections.
He predicted that the State would have a hung Assembly after the 2023 elections, and said that the president of the BRS K Chandrashekar Rao must join hands with the Congress to be able to form a government since those were the only two secular parties.
Speaking to media persons after submitting a representation to union transport minister Nitin Gadkari about the construction of a national highway and a regional ring road in his Lok Sabha constituency, he claimed that no political party would get more than 60 seats in the next Assembly elections.
He said that he was making the statement based on his rich political experience.
Claiming that the Congress still was credited for carving out a separate Telangana State, he said that the senior leaders of the party were not able to come onto one platform to cash in on that reputation. He said that the party would get 50 Assembly seats if all the leaders worked hard for its victory.
Commenting on the State's party in-charge Manik Rao Thakre, he said that Thakre was a senior leader of the party and that he was giving respect to all the party leaders from the State. He said that the State unit of the party had come on track after Thakre took over responsibilities. Targeting the past in-charge Manickam Tagore, he claimed that Tagore used to be glued to his mobile phone whenever a party leader wanted to lodge a complaint with him.
Reddy added that he would launch his padayatra from March 1 in the State.
